Have you found yourself wondering what mini sessions are? Why would minis be a better option for some than a regular full session? You’re in the right place, because I love mini sessions and am excited to share all about them! 


As a mom of active kids, I find my littles give me about 15-20 minutes of cooperation before they just need to run, play, and get all those sillies out! Now normally with full sessions, I’m all about photographing kids being little and capturing the organic moments as they happen. I love giggles and seeing the love between a family, in addition to the posed “everybody smile at the camera” picture. Full sessions can run between 30-60 minutes and sometimes the kids (and lets face it, adults too) get tired!  

This is where mini sessions are the perfect fit! Mini sessions run around 15-20 minutes depending on the set. Kids can have fun, laugh and smile, and by the time they are ready to be done the mini session is over! Less time involved also means a more affordable option as well! Who doesn’t love that?! Mini sessions come with a set number of edited images in the package, but if you are like me and have trouble picking out just a few photos, there are other options as well! Once you take a look at your online gallery of proof images, you can either select your set number of images OR you can decide to purchase the entire gallery at a discounted rate! You don’t have to choose and you get every single edited image from your session time!

Now comes my favorite part about minis…


I love the variety they offer! Minis change up everything, like the variety in people, seasons, and set-up! Minis work great for immediate families, mommy/daddy & me sessions, child milestones, siblings, or even friends! I love seeing the combinations clients come up with! High school seniors can even take advantage of minis too and build a unique senior portrait session when they sign up for a several mini sessions. I typically offer bunny minis for Easter, spring minis, secret garden minis, sunflower minis, fall family minis, & Christmas red truck minis.

Minis have limited sessions available and are offered on set dates, times and locations. (And yes, if you are wondering, my regular full sessions are privately booked at the convenience of the client and can be fully tailored to fit everyone’s needs!) My mini locations will always take place outside, because nothing is a more beautiful setting than nature! 


Natural and simple is my recipe for creating beautiful photos. While many photographers offer minis with a busy set-up, it’s just not MY style! I use minimal props, if any are needed at all, to allow the focus of the picture to be on YOU! I don’t want anyone to look at a picture and immediately check out the busy, distracting background! I want them to instead think about how outstanding YOU look and how wonderful that picture of YOU is!
